Stirks Family Butchers began in 2010, but Johns love for butchery started way before this at the tender age of 14. He got himself a job in his local butchers Davidsons and 10 years on, after learning from the best, John bought Davidsons at the age of 24 and the rest is history. In such a short time, we have grown to be one of the most successful Butcher Shops in the North East region, from having just 3 members of staff when we began to now having a team of 30, offering the highest quality meat to customers all over the North East. We believe that providing a place for those to visit where they know and trust, means that there will always a place in the local area for our trade.

How we’ve grown:

Since the beginning Stirks has grown extensively, so much so in we have expanded to three stores in Sunderland located in Grangetown, Fulwell and Pallion. We are also an online ‘social media’ butcher, with a huge following on Facebook and good honest advertising, this has allowed us to show our dedication to the digital age and to deliver our products to the widest audience possible. We are a company who believes that producing the highest quality products at affordable prices to all customers is paramount.

what’s next:

We are soon to be branching out into restaurant business. This has long been a dream of ours and due to all of the hard work we’ve put in over the last 7 years, it’s finally becoming a reality. Stirks Steakhouse Bar & Grill will be open to you all in summer 2017, we can’t wait to continue the Stirks legacy
